Locations:
- Sent/Received Text Messages Journal page
Users with the following permissions:
- Text Messages: View Student Text Messages
- Text Messages: View Sent/Received Texts Journal
Case:
A potential or active student can send a text message to the campus or campaign number from a phone number that is unregistered in the system. In this case, no one will be able to see the message because the messages from the unregistered phone numbers are not received by GEGI.
Problem:
How to track a message sent from previously unknown numbers?
Solution:
GEGI now shows the messages from unknown numbers.
Notifications
When a message from an unknown number is received, the users will receive an email with the information about the message.
If the text message is sent to the campus number, all the campus users will be notified if they have the Receive emails about the Text Messages from an unknown number notifications enabled.
If the message is sent to the campaign number only the campaign creator will receive the notification:
The following message is sent to the unknown number in reply to the message:
Sent/Received Text Messages Journal
The Unknown Person option is added to the Show Messages search parameter at the Sent/Received Text Messages Journal page.
When this option is enabled, the report will show the text messages received from the unknown numbers that are not linked to any student:
Note: The messages from an unknown number will be automatically linked to the new student with that number.
Available since GEGI v4.10.0 (view release notes).
