Case:

Some reports require users to export information lising a large amount of GEGI students. GEGI has a technical limitation that prevents exporting more than 1000 rows at once. This forces users to divide the student list into smaller lists with the search parameters. This is inconvenient and takes much time.


Problem:

How to export a large amount of data in a formod a list from GEGI to CSV easier, more convenient and time consuming?

 

Solution:

Added an ability to export a huge amount of rows to CSV:

  • Up to 10000 rows at the Leads & Students, Education Module: Students, and Financial Module: Students pages
  • An infinite amount of rows at the FA Tracking Report and Placement Module: Placement Records pages

Note: If you need to export more than 10,000 rows, use the search parameters in the Search & Order panel to divide the student list into smaller lists or create a request to GEGI Support and explain what data you need to export if you need to export all rows in one file.


Exporting less than 1000 rows will make a CSV file generated and downloaded at once as it was done before.

If there are more than 1000 rows to be exported, the CSV file will be generated in the background and the user will see the following message:



When the file is ready to be downloaded the user will see a notification with the generated file download link:



The download link will be sent by email as well:



Note: The download link is valid only for 24 hours. The notification in GEGI will be shown to the user until the download link is valid or the file is downloaded.
