Case:

Student’s education cost depends on the hours spent in a program.

Problem:

The tuition fee should be calculated and entered manually by the users. Besides that, GEGI gives no information about per hour/credit cost of education making it hard to manually validate the tuition fee amount in the student’s Enrollment Agreement/Financial Aid Plan.

Solution:

Added the automatic tuition fee calculation using the following formula: cost per hour/credit × student hours. The number of hours that a student takes within a group is calculated based on the courses assigned in the Enrollment Agreement. But the cost per hour/credit is defined in the group:

In order to make calculations automatic, you should choose which charge will be set as the tuition fee. You can do this by enabling the Calculated Automatically in EA checkbox for the charge.

Note: There can be only one such charge:

Cost per Hour/Credit can be defined in the group settings.

Note: The field name differs depending on the "Type of Hours" setting of a program. It is "Cost per Hour" for "Type of Hours = Clock Hours", and "Cost per Credit" for "Type of Hours = Contact Hours":

If the tuition fee is entered manually, the system will highlight it in yellow and show a tooltip with the calculation details:

You will see such tooltip in FA Plan as well:
