The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is the only healthcare education accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
In order for Education Schools to maintain accreditation, it is imperative that their programs meet and maintain required outcomes in terms of Retention, Placement, and Credentialing.
GEGI allows collecting certain student data automatically for the ABHES Annual Report. The data is compliant with the ABHES requirements.
ABHES Annual Report
This report combines the source information about students for the reporting year (07/01/20xx — 06/30/20xx) for further calculation by the ABHES template formulas.
The report is generated in the GEGI Reporting System (Dashboards → Reporting System). See the Reporting System Guide for details.
You can access the report directly from the menu: Audit Reports → ABHES Annual Report.
The report has the following fields:
- Student ID
- Student First Name
- Student Middle Name
- Student Last Name
- Campus Name
- Start Date — the student’s start date in the program
- Enrolled as Ability to Benefit (ATB) Student
- Street Address
- Current Classification of Student — the program delivery method: Residential, Blended, or Full Distance Education
Note: Methods of delivery used in a school must be matched with the ABHES methods in Education → Settings → Methods of Delivery:
- Enrolled as Part of the Beginning Enrollment — the yes/no field indicating whether the student was enrolled in the previous reporting period and is still enrolled in the current reporting period (not DROPPED, LOA Dropped, COMPLETED, or GRADUATED)
- New Starts — the yes/no field indicates whether the student started studying within the reporting period
- Re-entries — the yes/no field indicates whether the student was re-enrolled within the reporting period
- Withdrawals/Drops — the yes/no field indicates whether the student became DROPPED (LOA Dropped) within the reporting period
- Date Of Withdrawal/Drop — the date the student was withdrawn/dropped
- Graduated From the Program — the yes/no field indicates whether the student became GRADUATED (COMPLETED, if not GRADUATED) within the reporting period
- Date Graduated From the Program — the student’s graduation date in the program
- Took Credentialing Examination — the yes/no field indicates whether the student graduated from the program within the reporting period and took a Licensure Exam
- Credentialing Examination Name — Licensure Exam Title from the Program settings
- Passed Credentialing Examination — the yes/no field indicates whether the student graduated from the program within the reporting period and passed a Licensure Exam
- Failed Credentialing Examination — the yes/no field indicates whether the student graduated from the program within the reporting period and didn’t pass a licensure exam
- Credentialing Examination Results Pending — the yes/no field indicates whether the student graduated from the program within the reporting period and took a licensure exam, but the Licensure Exam Passed field is not set
- Placed — indicates whether the student is placed in the field or not
- Job Title
- Date Employed
- Verification Date — the date the employment was verified
- Place of Employment
- Employer Contact Number
- Unavailable for Placement — the reason why the student is unavailable for placement
Note: The unavailability reasons used in the school must be matched with the ABHES reasons in Admin → Lists (Departments, …) → Placement Unavailability Reasons:
- Not Placed/Placed Out of Field — indicates whether the student was not placed or placed out of field
- Enrolled as Part of Ending Population — indicates if the student is still ACTIVE as of the end of the reporting period
The report selects students by the following criteria:
- All groups that had the ACTIVE status at least once in the reporting period (at the same time, the end and the start dates of the groups may be outside the selected year).
- Students who were ACTIVE in the selected groups. Students who were ACTIVE and then changed to NOT STARTED are not reported.
- Programs with the degree level No Credit Work/CEU/Short Course are excluded from the ABHES Annual Report.
In case of transfers, the following rules apply:
- Students who were ENROLLED and then TRANSFERRED without being ACTIVE are not reported.
- Students who were TRANSFERRED to a different campus are reported twice.
- Students who were TRANSFERRED to a new group in a different reporting period are reported twice.
- Students who were TRANSFERRED to another group within the same reporting period and at the same campus are reported once.
