Case: 

The financial aid data for a student who pays for a program without any financial aid (e.g. Financial Aid Status, Verification Group etc.) is missing and the limitations about the lack of it prevent the population of the PP.

 

Problem :

How to populate a payment plan without financial aid and permissions to ignore the limitations about missing financial aid data?

 

Solution:

In case of no FA, such students will not have limitations about missing financial aid data during the payment plan population.

The Estimated Payment by Payment Period section in the Payment Plan displays whether a student uses any financial aid or not. If the section is empty, the student received no financial aid:



In this case, the following fields become optional and are ignored during population:

  • Financial Aid Award Year 
  • ISIR Transaction No
  • Financial Aid Status
  • Verification Groups
  • Comment Codes 
  • Expected Family Contribution



There are also changes at the Admin → Charges & Payments → Payments page:
  • The Not Required if all Aids is "n/a" setting is removed.
  • The Is Required (Must be filled if Payment Periods Dates are set) setting is renamed to Is Required if has Financial Aid.

    Note: A payment will not be required if the Total of Estimated Payment by Payment Period equals $ 0.00
